Hospitality. Thoughtfulness. Friendship.
These are a few words that describe Courtney & Donavan. Genuinely hospitable, thoughtful, and surrounded by endless friend, true friends, from all walks of their life. They are those people that everyone loves to love! Sneak Peak for now......
This gorgeous wedding for a pair of nature-lovers was photographed by photographer Maija Karin at the Tierra Learning Center in Leavenworth.
I’m always honored when anyone asks me to capture their love, joy, and unity—but it’s extra special when it’s a friend. Holli and I met years ago in a boot camp class and have been friends ever since. We both have a bit of a competitive streak, so the whole time we were in that class, we did everything in our power to beat each other out. Who can jump higher? Who can run faster? Who can lift heavier weights? We were always looking to outdo each other—though now that I am the boot camp instructor, I get to yell at her and tell her to jump higher! ;)
Have I mentioned how much I love weddings?! It’s amazing how after hundreds and hundreds of years, after millions and millions of weddings on Planet Earth, not one is the same. Each couple has their own story, their own personalities and their own flair. My second shooter, Debbie Brown, my good friend and owner of Brown Studios and I loved being part of this truly unique experience!
Heather and Rex were brimming with joy, laughter, and love on their big day! Excited for every moment that rounded the corner. Here is a little sneak peek into their day....full post to follow soon!
Engagements go by so quickly (just like everything else), it's an important time to create lasting memories. Honestly, it's one of the sweetest times in life and every drop of it should be cherished and enjoyed. But some of that can get lost in the busy, in the hectic, in the planning, in the trying to stay on top of school or work a full time job.
Jenny and Galen were married on October 1st, with a ceremony and reception at Galen’s family property out in Payette, ID. While I love every wedding I get to be part of, this one has an extra special place in my heart because Jenny has been a friend of mine for years. This genuine, beautiful, honest, sweet soul has gotten me through so many ups and downs, but it was when she reconnected with Galen after years of going in separate directions that I knew she’d found something that was meant to be.
Alex and Molly were married on May 23rd, with a ceremony and reception at Mountain Springs Lodge in Leavenworth, WA. During the ceremony, Alex and Molly did a butterfly release, which was meant to symbolize things like grace, growth, expansion, elegance, surrender, transition, and celebration. Alex and Molly gave away miniature succulents as their wedding ‘thank you’ gift, in part because of their passion for all that is living and green and their respect for the earth and all it provides for us. During the reception, Alex and Molly asked everyone to gather around the dance floor because Alex wanted to do a special dance with the whole group. When this kind of thing happens, half the time, I don’t know what to expect—especially when that dance is called the Banana Dance.
