Still Water Hollow Wedding | Amanda and Ty

Still Water Hollow Wedding | Amanda and Ty

Ty and Amanda were married on July 9th, with a ceremony and reception at Still Water Hollow.

I met Ty and Amanda in a coffee shop for the first time for an “interview” before the big day, and from the get-go, I was received by two very smiley, gentle people. These genuine souls with huge hearts and sweetness running through their veins had a little voice inside me saying, “Oh, oh, pick me, pick me!” and hoping that they would choose me to be their photographer. That kind of connection is such a vital part of the photography process!

The Rose Room Wedding | Leslie and Mark

The Rose Room Wedding | Leslie and Mark

Leslie and Mark were married on May 14, 2016 with their ceremony and reception at the Rose Room in Boise. Many of the couples I get the opportunity to work with are from out of town, so we don't get the chance to meet in person. While this was the case with Leslie and Mark, they both were at ease with me right away. I was welcomed with a warm sweet smile from Leslie, who was seemingly relaxed and ready for this profound day for her and Mark. It was a joy to walk into their getting ready environment with the hustle and bustle of bridesmaids dressing, the final touches being applied to hair and make-up, and the laughter from the boys downstairs as they played a game of pool (because that's what dudes do-- forget getting ready until the last minute). The bridesmaids were all done up in their gorgeous navy blue dresses, each with their own strap creation and they all welcomed me into the commotion. I ventured downstairs to capture the pool table merriment and Mark seemed just as at ease as Leslie. The whole group was welcoming, playful and fun you would never guess we had just met.

Mountain Home Lodge Wedding | Kathryn and Mark

Mountain Home Lodge Wedding | Kathryn and Mark

Kathryn and Mark were married on August 10th, with a ceremony and reception at the Mountain Home Lodge in Leavenworth, WA.

One of the things I adore most about my job is the chance I get no only to “work” but to be part of the most important and special days of people’s lives. Even though it’s scary and sometimes overwhelming, it’s also deeply humbling, especially for people like Kathryn and Mark! These are the kind of people that make your soul smile and make my job smooth sailing.

Sun Valley Wedding | Alex and Camille

Sun Valley Wedding | Alex and Camille

Alex and Camille were married on September 4th, with a ceremony at Senate Meadows at Galena Lodge in Sun Valley, ID, and a reception at the Warm Springs home they rented in Ketchum, ID.

The day of the wedding itself was full of just about every type of weather you can think of! It’s a bit of a guessing game for weather during the first part of September in Idaho, but it’s TOTALLY worth it to have an outdoor wedding, especially in a place like the gorgeous Sun Valley. Still, as I drove up to the wedding, the weatherman was giving a dismal forecast of tons of cloud cover, possible high winds and rain. He was right—but Idaho weather tricks you over and over again.

Still Water Hollow Wedding | Mike and Kiersten

Still Water Hollow Wedding | Mike and Kiersten

Mike and Kiersten were married on June 19th, with a ceremony and reception at Still Water Hollow.

I actually came to be their photographer through the most ordinary of events. My husband and I had a Subaru Tribeca, which we loved . . . and then it started having issues, which we didn’t love. We took it to a car mechanic—Mike—at Meridian Automotives.

Sleeping Lady Resort Wedding | Andrea & Matt

Sleeping Lady Resort Wedding | Andrea & Matt

Andrea and Matt were married on August 27th, with a ceremony and reception at the Sleeping Lady Resort in Leavenworth, WA.

I started out the day with the lovely ladies as they were getting ready before we headed down to a first look for Andrea and Matt in a private garden on the property. This is one of my favorite venues to shoot at, as we are surrounded by a sweet, intimate environment with a gorgeous backdrop. We took a few shots in the garden before we went down by the the mountain view so we could show off what makes the Sleeping Lady so neat—from the resort, you can see the mountain topography that looks exactly like a sleeping woman!
