A little family session

I have to be honest….because it’s simply the best policy!  I have been overwhelmed….the busy season has photos coming out of my ears. But that doesn’t mean I should short change myself or anyone that likes to look at my photos.  So, I have decided to spend a little more time on my blog and actually saying a word or two beyond my very brief synopsis of “how busy I am”.

Photography is part of my heart beat.  I see it in everything I do……  i.e. I just drove 6 1/2 hours from Nampa, ID to Wenatchee, WA and about every three minutes I saw a potential photo.  That’s how my mind works.  I only wish I had a family or wedding couple to stick in the corn field with five foot corn stalks, or the barn that has been abandon since 1920, or  in front of the Colombia River that is painted with diamonds and framed in chiseled cliffs that only God could create.  There is beauty and creativity everywhere.

I was very lucky to get an opportunity to capture Rani Guzman’s family at the end of June.  I went to school with Rani and it was so great to catch up and see where she is after high school (I can’t believe we graduated 13 years ago….I’m trying not to feel old:))

Here are a few photos from the session!  Such an adorable family.

I caught him! He thought he was quicker than me...but I caught him. :) I have to say that I take great pride when I capture a moment with a kid under the age of about 7 or 8, because any younger and they move at the speed of light.

Hehe....I just love this little face. Looks like he's been up to something.

This is the kind of happiness that you can only get between parent and child. Beautiful!

I adore the sister/brother love!

I had to grab a few shots of the love birds...because let's be honest, after you have kids you tend to forget about yourselves.

I had to post this one, because it's so real. Family is family and that's what I like to capture. Boogers, drool, dirty diapers, food stains...that's what family is all about.

Rani ~ what a beautiful family ~ Each one of you!
Maija ~ I continue to be inspired and awe-struck with your photography every time I visit your blog. You are so incredibly gifted. Since I could hold a camera, I’ve wanted to be a photographer. You are living my dream career, and I love seeing what you create. Beautifully done.
